The Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) was established in 1936 and was incorporated as Deemed University in 1964. In December 2011, under the aegis of UGC, TISS set up the School of Vocational Education (SVE) to provide immediate and defined intervention to improve the skill levels of millions of youth, through appropriate vocational training programs. The target beneficiary would include organized and unorganized workforce across industry and aims to cover every individual who needs to develop employee skills. Therefore, SVE has set up with a vision of creating ecosystem that would bring back the dignity of labor to all professions and occupations to create sustainable source of income for the aspiring youth in the country.
B.Voc ,the Vocational degree course is a three year program consists a combination of Practical, Theory and Generic courses. This program is divided into 6 semesters; 2 semesters per year. 1st year is awarded with a Diploma, 2nd year as an Advance Diploma & 3rd year is a Degree.
